After pruning a chunk on the outer islands of the End dimension that contained a destination end gateway portal linked from the main dragon island, the game did not regenerate the destination end gateway when those chunks were regenerated.
World was downloaded from our realm. Chunks were trimmed using Blocktopograph. When reloaded, the area around was fine, but the expected return end gateway portal did not generated at the expected location whenΒ the player went through the end gateway portal on the dragon island. The player was teleported to the expected area, but no return gateway portal was generated as would be expected.
This should be considered a bug and not WAI, as it is normal for OPs to prune parts of the end dimension to keep their world sizes smaller and thus avoid any upload / download bugs currently associated with Bedrock. It is unreasonable to expect OPs to have to perform such pruning by trying to trim around the end gateway portals. These should definitely be regenerated as part of the normal process for such structures.
Including screen captures of the NBT data for the source gateway as well as game captures showing the source portal entered and the destination where no return gateway was generated.

Jay: the issue here is similar to MCPE-84937 and MCPE-84772. World generation changes between versions so exit portal locations will not necessarily be the same. Furthermore, the bug tracker does not support any world editing done with 3rd-party tools.
If you want to discuss the issue & the mechanics you can ping me on the Mojira Bug Tracker Discord.

Probably more feature request, but the Vanilla game / realms console needs to include support for pruning world chunks across each dimension. As not being able to prune is the cause of large world file sizes that are the root cause of performance and world corruption issues.
Mojang needs to be the source of supported tools. I am sure that I am not the first person to mention this type of request. Community Managers should be looking into these types of tool development and recommend they be pushed higher up for development.
