Failed to Login Error Code "Crossbow"

Logging in with my Microsoft account from the Nintendo Switch, gave me an error to use the aka.ms/remoteconnect but when using the code on another device with my Microsoft account, it does not log me in. Even via Microsoft store version of Minecraft on my Razer laptop won't let me log in with my Microsoft account.

also want to note, we've had the issue forever where the login doesn't seem to 'stick' - we have to re-login all the time. this is not an exaggeration.

That sucks though. I only experience this after i installed the new update 1.16.210 on my switch. Error still continues even if you tried loggin in successfully through remote connect.

@ryan to be more specific, the having to login regularly is something we've had as long as we've had minecraft for switch. The crossbow error code is new

As people have said above signing in on switch has always been dicey, but this error code and the drowned code are new.

I and at least four others I know who play Minecraft on switch and PS4 have not been able to log in at all for several weeks, since before the new error codes appeared.

Has there been any ideas of how to work around this problem? My son can not login his account at all on his switch. I go to login on the computer and it say everything is set but then on the switch it doesn't login. Then every once in a while I finally get the error code crossbow. This has been over 3 weeks which is a lifetime for an 8 year old. My older child that plays on the computer and Xbox has not had this problem at all during this same time period!

Please fix this ASAP I've been having problems logging in for months, it used to just refuse to log me in, but then a week ago I was getting error code "Crossbow" so I would wait and try again only it would load longer and give me error code "Drowned"

 

Honestly one of my friends thinks you're trying to force people who play on Switch and PS4 to start playing on X-Box, computer, or Pocket edition

I'm sorry for y'all, we can't guarantee it being fixed anytime soon because we are not the ones fixing that. Although, we can try to do a workaround, so you can all, possibly, log in. Won't promise it would work but it can help.

1. Have you tried to delete the application data? Maybe a reinstall? Of course, if you have any worlds please try and move them outside of the console, if it is possible, so you can save them and upload them again when reinstalling.
2. Maybe try to create a new account and log in with it?
3. If I'm late to the party and you have already tried to do previous steps, can you tell me if you've tried any other workarounds, and with what results?

Please tell me if any of this helps. It's not only for me but for the bug as well, so we can know what works and what doesn't.

After many times of delete minecraft and removing all world from the switch with nothing changing over the past week. I have done this at least twice a day and would either get crossbow or drowned error code when trying to login or nothing would happen. I finally figured what would hurt creating a new account expect out over $100 in minecraft money spent with over $30 still left unused plus the past 6 months of time my kid spent playing the game. I could actually log in fully with a new account and get into the store. Then I logged out of the new account and it took two times but then I could finally login with the original account without losing the money or all the worlds my child created. All of the problems started after the latest update for us with the switch. Over the weekend I was even having problems login into my account that I set up with realms that is only used on the computer or xbox and not being able to use realms but that went away.

@magdalena logging in a new account fixed the issue. I just tried it today. After creating another microsoft account then sign in on nintendo switch then immediately signing out and try the old account was what i did.

I am having the same problem. Until today, we were asked to resign into Microsoft remote account remotely whenever I play online. I’m sometimes kicked out for no reason and receive the error code crossbow. Today we cannot play any online servers at all. We enter the code remotely. Microsoft confirms and asks us to close the window. We try access minecraft again and are given another code again to access remotely. HELP Please.

Not sure if this will help any one. We deleted all saved data from minecraft and it works.

I’ve had this bug affecting my account on the Switch since 24/04/2020, can’t log into my Microsoft account at all. 
Running Ver. 1.16.221 on Switch 12.0.1
Have tried deleting save data, deleting and reinstalling the game, hard resetting the switch, signing in multiple times to Microsoft via Remote Connect and nothing has worked.

I've got the same problem since the 1.17 cliffs and caves part one update, although it sometimes wouldn't let me sign in after the Nether update (1.16) but it was intermittent. Now I am getting the error code crossbow which I have never seen before.

 

I deleted all data yesterday and reinstalled Minecraft from scratch, so I know it isn't a corrupted save file or anything causing it. I'd like to be able to log in though.

I think I found a fix! We made a new password for my account and it let me sign in. So I think to fix it you need to change your Microsoft account password.

It seems as if my original comment was removed. Basically, I talked about what potential solutions Minecraft support had, and the outcome of them all. Hopefully my comment doesn't get removed again. Here's what I wrote the first time:

  • Make sure game is up to date- Already was

  • Make sure my Minecraft account is linked to my Microsoft account- Already was

  • Check my internet connection- Internet has never been an issue

  • Sign out of Minecraft and all connected accounts, then sign back in- no change

  • Repeat the above step, but restart the game before signing back in- no change

  • If the above doesn't work, wait an hour and try again- no change

  • If the above still doesn't work, wait 24 hours and try again.- no change

  • Visit the Jira page for this bug

  • Uninstall and reinstall Minecraft- time consuming, and no change

  • Restart your console- no change

That was all they had for me. I figured that was all support had to say because they ended off with the following:

"Unfortunately, specific technical issues are difficult to diagnose remotely due to differences with individual computers/settings, and other variables. Please continue to use the guidance we have provided here and on our Error Code help article, as these may assist you in solving the issue at a later time."

I am mainly a realms player, and I have to play on another device because I am unable to access realms because of this bug.
