Sandstone, stone brick, and quartz have the wrong texture when placed if placed in a certain direction.

it is because of the stairs use quartz block texture but there are 3 types of quartz blocks so minecraftpe picks a random one each direction it is facing i hope this helped you

I can confirm This only works on iOS. It`s fine on android.

Android just got updated to 0.6.1, which fixes that bug. You probably have 0.6.1. iOS was delayed because they had to fix some extra multiplayer bugs, and Apple's approval process takes longer.

MCPE-1768 reports this still affects iOS in version 0.6.1, can anyone confirm?

No. I just tested all three in 0.6.1 on an iPad 3 iOS 6.1, and it worked fine. Are you sure you updated? It should say "Alpha 0.6.1" at the top of the main menu when you first start the app.
