First I select onto painting from the inventory page, then when I try and palce down a painting oto a wall, onto any type of wall, It dosen't work!

Your report says you experienced this in the 1.16.230.56 Beta release. Are you sure that you're using this version and not 1.16.220?
Mojang says they fixed this problem in the 1.16.230.54 Beta release and we've had verification that it was fixed then. If it's happening again in the latest Beta we need to know right away so we can tell Mojang about it.
If you're actually using 1.16.220, which hasn't been fixed yet, that's fine, just tell us so and please be more careful in the future. When you report an incorrect affected version it can cause the actual fix to be delayed unnecessarily as the developers waste time looking for a problem that isn't there.
