*Workaround:*
This problem does not occur when Ray Tracing is enabled in your Video settings. Ray Tracing, also known as RTX mode, is a graphics rendering technology supported by high-end graphics processing units on certain computer and console platforms. For more information about ray tracing, see this FAQ.
If your Video settings do not iinclude a Ray Tracing toggle, or it's disabled, your device does not support ray tracing and you cannot use this workaround.

I'm not having this problem on mobile, so it's me it's fixed. And I am 1.16.220 official.

I don't think it was every happening consistently on all platforms. On my Windows 10 PC, for instance, it wasn't happening until 1.16.220 was released.

Issue is occurring on Realms, we have users accessing ours via PC, PS4 and Switch. Issue did not occur until the update today for 1.16.220

It's doing this on the PS4 version after the newest update 1.16.220

The issue appeared at Windows 10 (bedrock) platform immediately after the update to version 1.16.220. All old paintings are invisible (and if they are broken and placed as the new paintings they remain invisible). With 1.16.210 were paintings ok.

We've already marked the issue as occurring on multiple platforms, as you can see in the heading above. More comments saying the same thing aren't really helpful. Instead, please just upvote the issue by clicking the "Vote for this issue" link above if you haven't already done so. More votes help encourage Mojang to fix it sooner. Repetitious comments don't!

I can confirm that paintings are visible on Bedrock Android 1.16.220 and are invisible on Bedrock Windows 10 1.16.220. You can even put up a painting on Win10 and they will appear on Mobile when accessing the same Bedrock 1.16.220 Minecraft Server.

Any news on this? My kid's favorite world is "Unspeakable Hide and Seek" (purchased from the Minecraft marketplace) and one part of the gameplay is hiding behind paintings.

@unknown: See my comment above. We think it's been fixed in the Beta but Emanuel submitted a bug report that contradicts that. If it really was fixed in the Beta, it will most likely be fixed in the next regular release that comes out. Otherwise, they're still working on it and there's no way to predict how long it will take.. (Think of it like somebody asking you "How long will it take you to find your runaway dog?" By the time you have an answer, the work is already finished.)

The issue happened with my while playing. It made me think that deleting some mods I don't need might have been the problem. It happened to me when I installed a new mod and deleted some that were not working anyway to make some more room. Could this have been the problem? But I don't think so cause it did an update this morning while I was playing, so I think it's the new update that happened to my minecraft this morning. Can you solve this issue? I am working hard on my minecraft world and I need my pictures. I paid to play this game and also bought the world I'm working in with minecoins, so can you fix this issue?

Meanwhile my tests on 1.16.220 show this to be a problem with Renderdragon

Status of this bug report: The changelog for 1.16.230..54 says that it fixes a problem with rendering paintings, but didn't refer to this bug report (as changelogs usually do), plus there has been an additional report of it happening in .54. We are investigating whether it has actually been fixed. If you can reproduce this issue in the 1.16.230.54 Beta or a later Beta release, please leave us a comment letting us know what platform you're on and what release you're playing. Thank you.

Further testing does show that this is indeed fixed in the 1.16.230.54 beta, contrary to Emanuel Vidar's report

Jonathan: Thank you, but unfortunately there have been several more reports today saying it's happening to people in the new Beta., so it's possible the fix was incomplete and only resolves the problem for some platforms. We'll wait for more people to have the opportunity to test it in the Beta. Besides, it isn't in the regular release yet so we wouldn't be changing the resolution on this ticket either way. It's just a question of whether we need to tell Mojang to keep working on it.

could there be a way we can fix it in the files at home ourselves? I'm not at home right now, but when I get home later I will try to restart the computer to see if it works. perhaps if I set my computer back to a few days before the new update? would that help? Is there a code in a file that I could fix manually myself? I just love my minecraft and working on something big and amazing. I would like to see if Mojang could make copies and allow the world to experience in what I'm making. I'm far from done with it and have been working for months.

@unknown: I'm afraid returning your copy of Minecraft to an earlier version isn't possible. And no, you cannot fix the code yourself; it isn't human-readable..
I'm sorry, but I have to remind you that this is not a support site. We don't have enough staff to offer such a service, we aren't necessarily knowledgeable enough to be very helpful, and this message-based software is wholly unsuited to that kind of interaction, If you have further questions such as this, please consider asking them at the Minecraft Discord where you can interact directly with community members who are there to help. You can even find Mojang staff there sometimes.

Tested on Windows 10,
Paintings were invisible since the 1.16.220 update.
After installing the beta 1.16.230.54, the issue seems resolved, paintings are visible again.
Just to add a detail I haven't read yet: Paintings remain visible when RTX is enabled, no matter the version.

@unknown: Apparently you didn't read my earlier comment addressed to you. Please go back and read it. This is not a customer support site.

Paintings have turned visible after the update to 1.16.221.

Aaaand that's why this ticket was resolved as "Fixed". 😉

Well, the fix was confirmed working by me!

I just wanted to say Thank you so much. That was so fast with the new update. I also wanted the peoples who come to check this, who haven't received their update to know what to do. If you have Windows 10 PC version Bedrock v 1.16.2, sometimes the updates don't happen automatically. You got to open up microsoft store, then sign in with the same account you used to buy minecraft. Then search: minecraft. Go through the selection of minecraft games and Click on the one you bought, it should say insatalled. Then near the, Play now button, there are three dots ( . . . ) Click on it, and the click on updates. It might take a few minutes. If you did and nothing happened. Seriously, Just wait. It will start downloading. It should be about 25MB or so. You can even do it with minecraft open, but the game will restart itself. And there you go, you'll be able to see your paintings. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
