The bug
Currently in bedrock, the first-person fire overlay animation takes up literally more than three-quarters of the screen.

It's basically impossible to see anything. This was not the case back in 1.12. Not sure exactly when it changed.

Still pretty bad, but it stays lower longer and doesn't go nearly as high.
This issue exists because there is a bug that has been fixed, which is where the fire overlay appears 3D at high fovs
