Hello everyone, I found a weird bug. It's about my tools wearing out faster in the Nether rather than doing that in the overworld. Is this an oversight bug? (Only works to pickaxes, sorry about that!)
1. Make a Pickaxe (Iron, Gold, Diamond, any)
2. Go into the nether portal where you head into the Nether.
3. With your pickaxe, start mining netherrack, quartz ore, or Nether Gold Nugget Ore, and watch your pickaxe wear its durability faster.
Observed Results: Quicker wear on pickaxes in the Nether VS The Pickaxes in the Overworld.
Expected Results: Quicker wear on pickaxes in the Nether

The amount of durability used up is determined by the number of blocks you mine, not by the total time you spend mining. Netherrack is very soft so it and its ore variants mine quickly, and as a result you can mine many more blocks in the same amount of time compare to overworld stone variants and ores. Does that account for what you are experiencing?
Yea, thanks to the Netherrack and its Ores being soft, I will mine more blocks but with quicker degrade?
