We purchased the "My Life in Sakura Shores" world template from the marketplace last night on our Nintendo Switch system. When attempting to create a world based on this template the usual "Building Terrain" progress bar appears, but gets stuck 5-10% in. After some time the game will eventually crash completely.
So far I have tried:
Restarting Minecraft on the Switch
Restarting the Switch
Deleting the affected download and downloading it again
Deleting additional unrelated content to make more space
Deleting the "Miscellaneous" data under "Cache" (not really sure what this is for but a quick search seemed to indicate it would not be a problem)
So far the condition remains the same, the game crashes and there is a partially created world (roughly 3.5MB file) in the world list which also crashes the game if you attempt to load it.
Is there anything else I can try to debug this scenario on my end?

With assistance from the creator of the aforementioned world (Imagiverse), I was able to get the world to successfully load.
The following amounts to a work-around in my opinion, but never the less I'd like to pass it along in the even others run into similar issues with purchased content with Bedrock running on lower end tablets and consoles.
Before creating the world I changed the following settings:
Render distance to minimum (5 chunks)
Fancy Leaves off
Fancy Bubbles off
Render Clouds off
Beautiful Skies off
Smooth Lighting off
Fancy Graphics off
Texel Anti-Aliasing off
While creating the world I changed the following:
Simulation Distance to minimum (4 chunks)
The above allowed the world to be created, but even with everything disabled as above the world is too much for the Nintendo Switch to handle at times, suffering significant framerate drops. I don't know if it is possible to determine programmatically, but it would be nice if it were possible to display a warning in the marketplace if a particular item would be too resource intensive for the platform you are currently running on.
Hi, I’ve got the same issue. My daughter purchased this pack on 20 June 2021. First of all it wouldn’t download, which we managed to fix, but now she can’t create the world, it just crashes leaving a partially created 3.6MB file.
I’ve tried the workarounds listed above (thank you to the guy who raised the ticket) but this hasn’t fixed the problem on our switch. Current version of Minecraft is v1.17.2.
It’s frustrating for my daughter that she’s purchased content which she can’t play or get a refund for. The content hasn’t worked on v1.17.1 or 1.17.2. Also concerned about previous comments referring to performance issues. A warning on similar content would be helpful in future.
Hi, I have had the same issue on the Nintendo Switch. The game crashes and reports an unhelpful error message at the building terrain stage. I tried changing the settings as mentioned in a previous post, but it made no difference. My daughter has the City Living world, which seems fairly graphic intensive, and it plays fine at full settings. I think blaming the power of the hardware doesn’t cut it. Money wasted and a disappointed daughter!
We got the same problem here. Aforementioned settings didn't help here either. Game keeps crashing while "Building Terrain". I even reset the Switch to factory settings and reinstalled everything.
Thank you for your report!
However, this issue has been temporarily closed as Awaiting Response.
Is this still an issue in the latest version? If yes, can you please add it to the affected versions (or mention it if you are not the reporter)?

Some additional steps I tried today:
Moving the Minecraft install on the Nintendo Switch from microSD to internal storage
This improved loading time greatly, and allowed the "Building Terrain" progress bar to move a little farther in one instance, but the game still eventually crashed to the dashboard and the resulting save file for the world was again 3.6 MB
I tried disabling automatic cloud backups in the event that the 2 GB upload was occurring in parallel with the attempt to generate the world, but this did not result in any different behavior
