Piglins keep gold if you relog while they are admiring it

Steps to reproduce

  1. Toss a gold ingot to a piglin.

  2. Save & quit.

  3. Reload the world.

Expected result

Piglin finishes bartering: it puts away the gold ingot and tosses you some other items.

Observed result

Piglin perpetually holds the gold ingot in its offhand. If it zombifies, then the zombified piglin continues to hold the gold ingot in its offhand.

If you save and exit while a piglins is looking at gold, when you return the piglin will be holding the gold but will be unable to trade with. (World type: Easy, no cheats enabled)

This is currently happening in my 1.18.2 world, in both survival and creative mode. You give the piglin a gold ingot, they will continue to trade as long as the area is loaded. But if you go to the overworld or save/exit world they will freeze up and no more trades. If you want to fix this, you have to get a new piglin to trade with.

Still an issue on 1.19.41 (iOS)

However, you don't need to find a new piglin to fix it. If you throw another ingot at the piglin, it won't pick it up but will start examining the ingot you previously threw.
