Player can clip into a door by closing it

While I was playing on my world, I was standing at the exact area my door was in, but then, when I closed it, I was inside the door. However, I could easily walk out of the door.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Walk directly into a door's hitbox.

  2. Close the door while standing still.

Expected results:

You should be pushed out of the door, depending on which "side" you are on.

Observed results:

You no-clip through the door, and at certain angles, can't see the door in first person.

Notes:

I only have MCBE on my iPad, and this glitch is more conveniently performed in first person. Make sure when you look left or right, you see the open door. This glitch is best performed when the door is in front of your hitbox (if you stand behind it). Also, this works on almost any door (however, it is harder/impossible to do using iron doors). Update: I have now reproduced this with iron doors in 1.20.30 (although I decided to add the version way after, so I might have forgotten). Second update: I have reproduced this on computer.

I expect that this is working as intended. The behavior described here is the same as being inside of any other block. You can always move out of a block if you get inside it somehow. Collision only stops you moving into a block from the outside. That's a good thing, because otherwise if you somehow got inside a block without the tools to mine out of it (or without the tools to mine out quickly enough to avoid suffocating) you'd have to enable cheats to continue playing in the world.

This report has been referred to the developers for review as to whether the behavior is intended, and/or for a fix. No timeframe can be given. It could be days, or it could be years, before they address the issue.

A bug tracker is not like a support service where you can expect a timely, personalized updates. Once a reported behavior is confirmed there isn’t going to be any updates until it is either fixed or a decision is made not to fix it.

Affects education edition and 1.17.30

Isn't this Works as Intended in Java Edition too? Unless Mojang plans on changing it for both versions, but I don't see why they would do that, except maybe to remove door "double-jumping".
