Copper does not oxidize in the nether

After placing copper in the end, I noticed that it oxidized. When I placed copper in the nether, however, the copper did not oxidize.

I spread the copper out in all dimensions & increased the tick speed to run the tests.

I've also had the same issue (Bedrock on Switch), have AFKd for 8 hours with no oxidising and tested in creative with max random tick speed (4096) and still no changes

Maybe its not supposed to , being that the nether has no oxygen or something?

It's possible it's intended gameplay (maybe because there's no moisture in the Nether) but it would be good to have it confirmed as it's not been announced as a feature of copper afaik

On Java, the copper blocks do oxidize in the nether, so this can also be marked as a parity issue.

i think it's cool and logical, that's a feature! But it should be like that in Java.

this should be a feature
