Breaking the top of any colour bed with a Nether Portal item and many other unobtainable block item or items (example : NPC spawn egg) will turn the bed into red and breaking the bottom of the bed or any block at all will do absolutely nothing (it won't even break the bed or that block)

The bed even changes it's colour on breaking with continuous switching of elytra and chestplate and Neither of them are unobtainable.
How do you get the Nether Portal item? I would like to test this, yet I do not know how to get the required item. Please respond to this as soon as possible.
