My son has been using Minecraft Education Edition and spent months working on his worlds! We bought Minecraft for our PC and Pocket Edition. Hoping we could to import the words from Minecraft EE to Minecraft Win 10 and PE, I exported the world from Minecraft Edu, and attempted to transfer it to Minecraft Windows 10, by using the Import button, however, a note popped up, saying "Level Import Failed; Unsupported File Format." After research for hours, through articles, Videos, or similar problem/solution feedback, we still have not found a solution. Reaching out to you directly for HELP, Please! Can you help me import my worlds and or tell me what I'm doing wrong? Please help! We would really hate to lose all of these months of hard work. Also, it would be great if these instructions could be made public so that others can use them too! Thank you for your time.

Thank you!!
[media]Yes - very frustrating and odd that there isn't a better solution. Would you mind fixing these last few worlds, too? Then he'll be totally transitioned out of the Education Edition. Thank you so much for your time. You have saved me (and my son) soooo much of ours and we really appreciate it.
Certainly!

I guess I can post how it's done for posterity. It's pretty simple, you just need a bedrock NBT editor like this thing: https://www.universalminecrafteditor.com/
Then you just open your world, go to world settings, find eduOffer
and change it from 1 to 0, then save.
Anyway, take care. I hope your son enjoys the full bedrock minecraft!
Thank you for your report!

Re-resolving as a duplicate of MCPE-158242.
Sorry about this. Vanilla bedrock artificially prevents these worlds from being opened, even though it's the exact same format. If not for occam's razor I would say it's a pretty anti-consumer move. But anyway, I've gone ahead and fixed all these worlds for you, and re-attached them. Please enjoy:
