Terrain generation is different with "Caves & Cliffs" option turned on.

World seed doesn't match.

Applying the current seeds(1.17.11) to 1.17.40 beta (experimental gameplay - cave&cliff) creates a completely different world.

If it's officially released like this, it'll be terrible.

Please fix it properly.

I think this is intentional because they are trying to make a seed parity for Java and Bedrock.

That is bloody ridiculous!

What will happen to the future of the people who created the world with Bedrock Edition?
We'll see the world that's been shattered soon...

With the entire terrain generation changing, this is something that will have to happen. Though Mojang Studios has been working hard on ways to make the transition less jarring for old worlds, so keep an eye out for that. Don't forget to backup your worlds before trying any new update!

It's not about mountains or caves.
The structure itself becomes a completely different world!

That's correct, the entire world generation is changing to feel more natural with the new caves and cliffs. A lot of exciting changes were made so the terrain looks more interesting and has more variation. 😃

The toggle in the current release only enables the new mountains, which is why the same hill is still there in the second picture. The changes will only apply to newly generated areas though.

Mojang basically had to make predictable updates. There is no mention of this in the patch note at all.

Up to C&C of 1.17.11, mountains and caves were updated while the basic composition of each SEEDS such as continents, seas, and biomes was maintained.

However, in C&C of 1.17.40 beta, such a basic configuration was completely ignored.

Up to 1.17.11, the terrain generation had not yet been changed. The new caves and mountains aren't all that's getting added in this update, if you look around in the current beta you may find some very interesting terrain features that weren't present before.

It is impossible to change the entire world without completely changing seeds. It has happened many times in the past, but the overall terrain hasn't been changed much in a while, which is why we haven't had seeds break in recent years.

Also, the change was definitely implied by all the features listed. Imagine if every new item added had a line "Can be obtained via commands" in the changelog, it's just a given 😛
