Sorry for the inconvenience, but I have a problem when entering the portal to the underworld and it is that the game stops completely, it started to happen after the update of June 7 in my main world, in new worlds it does not happen. I have tried everything to make it work but the problem continues, please fix it. Yours sincerely ODST1132305

No, I tried in a new world introducing an allay, but nothing happens, everything normal, only with a particular world. ☹️

For me it happens in all worlds. If I have been to the nether before or if I just created the world and go there for the first time. No allays involved in this , or rather I never had any with me or near me when I go to the nerher. I'm on android 12.

Resolving temporarily as Awaiting Response. Could you please add your world to this ticket? The files should be in this folder: /Android/com.mojang.minecraftpe/files/games/com.mojang/minecraftWorlds, you can transfer them to your pc, zip them, and attach them here. If the world exceeds the file size limit, you can upload it elsewhere (e.g. google drive) and link it here.

It happens to any world I go to the nether in. But here is a creative world I just created just to go to the nether in (obv it crashed after that).

Not sure if mine is same issue. I have no problem using portal to get to the Nether it is when I try to leave the Nether the game crashes. Before I only had trouble at my base because so much going on there but now game crashes no matter which portal I try. It is a seed started before mountain cave update and is little over 2g. I am not having the same problem on my newer world started after cave/mountain update and not much built in it. My game was still crashing after the issue had been marked resolved but ever since the last update it has gotten worse and now I am trapped in the Nether unable to leave. I have a backup save that is 4 days previous to the current save but I am reluctant to play because even though I can get back to my world before I entered the Nether it would mean the Nether is off limits to me until the bug is fixed.

Yesterday on my last save for my world of 2 years I once again tried to port out of the nether and the game crashed. I then tried a different save, the that was 4 days prior and before I entered the Nether so I wasn't trapped yet.
I wanted to see if I entered the Nether on that save if I would be able to port back out or have the game crash. I used portal to enter the Nether and as usual I had no problem entering the Nether. I then waited a moment and used the portal to get back to the surface world and happily I was able to port back out of the Nether without game crash. I thought that wasn't good enough test though to decide whether or not to bother building my world yet. I decided to see if I could enter the Nether and travel to a different portal in another chunk and see if I could port out or have the game crash. I entered the Nether at coordinates -192, 96, 407 and traveled to the nearest portal to my base portal which I don't use because it is certain to crash if I use my portal at base so I use the first portal east of my base then run back to base normally. The coordinates for that portal is 286,43, 28 in the Nether. The portal on surface world is inside a desert temple and I don't have any mob collections, builds, or farms there so it normally doesn't give me any trouble porting out of the Nether until last update. This time when I tried to use the portal the game crashed.
This weekend I plan enter the save from before I entered the Nether. This time before I enter the Nether I am going to travel the surface world first and make sure I open every chunk I have a portal in. I am thinking I get trapped in Nether because areas that haven't been opened since the last big update get corrupted when trying to enter from the Nether. I am hoping by opening each chunk before I try to enter from the Nether this will keep those chunks from becoming corrupted.

I have a world from Version 1.16 it is pretty large because I have been playing on it for so long, It is even so large that multiplayer is almost impossible because then it lags a lot. Yesterday I was trying to build a froglight farm with the magma cube spawner in a Treasure bastion, I traveled multible times to the nether and back because I wanted every frog type in the farm. One time however I couldn't travel from the nether to the overworld because I was stuck in the loading terrain screen of the nether portal. After 5 minuts nothing changed so I tried to close minecraft, that didn't work however because my mouse pointer was stuck to the characters head movement (first person view). With no other choice I turned of my computer, when I was back in Minecraft, the world I played in was just gone, it wasn't in the choose world screen anymore, I checked the gamefiles and it was there, I just couldn't access it anymore because it didn't show up in the choose world screen no matter how many times I restarted my Minecraft. I am glad that I had made a copy of the world and hour ago so not much was lost.
This also happened to me back in the version 1.13-1.14, same thing, The world was pretty big and I couldn't travel through the netherportal without being stuck in the generating terrain loading screen. I quit minecraft and turned of my device and the world was just gone, still in the gamefiles but no way to access it. Back then I didn't had a world backup (copy of the world), it hit me very hard because I did spent a lot of hours in the world.

I am not crashing by the way unlike you guys, the loading screen of the nether portal just won't go away and when I shut down my device while in the loading screen the world delets itself.

I added a Bug report (MCPE-159669) but it got marked as duplicated to this issue, despite being a different bug.

I had to throw away save that wouldn't load the surface world from the Nether. I loaded save of before I entered Nether, losing a little bit of progress I had to redo. Like planned I went to every portal on the surface world and opened their chunk before entering the Nether. After doing so I was able to enter the nether and travel from one portal to the other and get back and forth from the surface world and I was even able to use the portal back at base but only once. afterwards it would again not allow me to port to surface without a game crash. I was able to use nether portals as long as I used the portal I entered from and didn't stray too far. This enabled me to enter the nether to farm fortress and fight the Wither and come back. It also seems like I can't save in the Nether. If I save in Nether then I can't leave without game crashing but if I enter Nether without saving I can usually port back out from same portal I entered through. This has put an end to using the Nether as a short cut and I have gone back to all travel via the surface world. I travel the surface world to the portal that enters the Nether where I want to go and exit through same portal otherwise I get trapped in Nether because game crashes while trying to leave.

I was having this issue a lot on my oldest PS4 world (~700MB world with lots of stuff). Something that I have discovered however is that the issue never happens when I have a second controller on and playing the world, so now whenever I am going to go through a nether portal I always turn on my second controller and have it join the world. Having the second player in he world can make the performance of the game a little worse but better that than the game crashing.

Did you try and export your world, deleting it, and then import it? it might think its a new world since you imported it

Same here, my bug got reported as a duplicate but it is in fact not the same issue, just wont load the nether
When I close Minecraft and re-open, I load in the nether at the same X and Z coordinates, but I spawn at -600+ Y coordinate. If in survival it will result in dying from falling out of the world.

Is there any action on this? The nether portals always crash my world, leave me in the nether loading screen or put me at my overworked coordinates in the nether. The question has to be asked if there are any checks completed when releasing updates. I am luck that my worlds are backed up to the cloud. This world I have had for four years. Come on Microsoft, show us you are up to the task

I would like to add that I believe this issue is fairly common. On a shared server with ~30 players, we have this issue occur at least twice a day and sometimes upwards of 4 times a day. We down our server twice a day for backups, and I believe this has helped our world stay stable, but it is quite annoying. Roll backs are quite common including chunk by chunk meaning some chunks may roll back and others do not. It has resulted in people losing shulkers of items, which is very disheartening.

This is still a major issue on many multi player servers that crash regularly because of this. I would hope this is in next week's 1.19.23 hotfix update 😉

Having this issue as well with the new 1.19.30.04 on a Linux BDS. Gets stuck at the loading screen after using a portal. Restarting the game spawns you in the nether but at the overworked coordinates.

It happenned 3 times yesterday on our realm and once the day before. Rolling back when a player uses a nether portal. In a game where you build stuff, redoing 3 times a build can be really infuriating!

Add Version 1.19.30, experiencing this problem on Windows, Realm Plus. Cannot play with friends, it rolls back to the same damn moment like a cursed time loop. Exporting world to another slot didn't help. [Here is my world |https://drive.google.com/file/d/17HPPqv1Z3s1xYIy2H4NCaHavXUgVhHGh/view?usp=sharing]

This issue has been happening on our Bedrock SMP a lot since the Bedrock update two weeks ago. We run a very vanilla server with no add-ons. First thing I noticed that the transition time when traveling through the portal had gotten longer. Hear weird noises which I initially assumed were part of the update.
Several days ago, I died while going through a portal. Game said I suffocated in solid rock. This may be related to another new glitch I'm researching, where the underworld becomes revealed from the overworld when players first join the server. In this case, I went through a portal, materialized in a void, exited the game, and when I rejoined, the above death happened.

A lot of the recent comments mention BDS servers or realms. May I ask if this is the correct place for the recent bug reports, or should it be reported in the section for BDS: https://bugs.mojang.com/projects/BDS/ ?

@unknown: It's hard to say at this time. The BDS project is really for bugs that only occur on a BDS server (i.e. they can't be reproduced on other platforms). If all the evidence comes from a BDS server, I would put it in the BDS project, but if there's even one occurrence elsewhere I'd put it in MCPE. In any case, getting the right project isn't critical, because if we find out it's in the wrong one we can easily move it.

Nintendo Switch player here and this bug seems to be closest to what I'm experiencing so I'll post this here.
In my case, I'm able to enter the Nether just fine; however, when trying to leave the dimension the game will black screen and display the 'software was closed due to an error' message.
In some instances, the game will freeze instead and I'll have to go to the console's home screen and manually close the software. When that happens and I reload the world, I'll be at the overworld position of my nether coordinates and suffocate in a wall like other comments here have mentioned.
Yesterday, my buddy went to the Nether in my world. When he died, the game instantly crashed and kicked all 3 us. When playing solo, the game crashes when I leave using a portal. (This crash can be avoided in solo by saving next to the portal, closing the world, reloading the world, and jumping in the portal as quickly as possible.)
For additional information, my world has 2 distinct areas. The main area, which overworld and nether, were created in version 1.17. The new area was generated entirely in 1.19.
The crashing only happens when leaving the Nether in the main area. I didn't visit the Nether in 1.18 so I can't say when this issue started exactly, but I first experienced it playing in 1.19.20 when trying to create a tunnel linking the two parts of the world. This issue is still present in the newest 1.19.40 version.

This is not an issue regarding realms. This has happened to me in single player on the Switch, and I got a realm to play on my PC, and since then I haven't touched my Switch nor my downloaded SP world, and I haven't that issue since. IDK if it's due to my PC being more powerful than my Switch or it being on SP.

Is this still an issue in the latest version?
At the time of writing this comment, the latest release is 1.21.1 Hotfix.

According to Mojang, this was fixed in 1.19.10 or 1.19.11 (September-October 2022 timeframe) but was left off the changelog. In contrast, there are a few comments in this report and a handful on reports closed as duplicates of it that say it was happening in later releases. However, the later comments and reports all seem to involve either Realms or BDS servers. Add to this the fact that the Confirmation Status on this issue is Community Consensus, which means we (the bug tracker staff) couldn't find a reliable way to reproduce all the symptoms. Put all together, it becomes a bit questionable whether this was a single issue or multiple similar issues, and some of the comments reflect that doubt as well.
On the other hand, Mojang clearly did fix something related to this issue in 2022, and there haven't been any new comments on this report since December of that year (1½ years ago at this writing). I'm inclined to think that the Realms and BDS server reports from later dates that were linked as duplicates were actually about a different problem specific to those environments, very possibly one that was more specifically identified on some other bug report and was fixed independently.
On top of all the foregoing, the issue(s) caused the game to crash, which makes it possible—even likely—that the world saves were corrupted beyond repair. Subsequent attempts to play the world, including after the fix was applied, could have caused further crashes, which might account for continuing reports that the bug wasn't fixed even though it had been.
I am therefore resolving this report as Fixed.
If you were affected by this (or a similar) issue and are still experiencing it in new worlds, please search for a matching later bug report or create a new one if you can't find a match. If you're only experiencing the issue in the same old worlds that you came here to report, I'm afraid those worlds can't be fixed, but maybe you can work around it by avoiding certain portals or portals in certain areas.
