[MCPE-167570] Says "Unable to connect. Please restart your client. P2P/SIG: no_session(0x80004005)" when trying to join a multiplayer game

My little sister and I have a world that she created and invited me to join into. We have been playing this world for months now however since updating to 1.19.62, I have been unable to connect to the world with this error message:

Unable to connect. Please restart your client. P2P/SIG: no_session(0x80004005)

No idea how to fix this, we've tried checking for updates, restarting both devices, logging out and back in, changing from wifi to data and back, and nothing seems to be working.

Just in case its relevant, my sister hosts the world on her ipad in New Zealand and I join the world on my android phone in Australia. There have been minimal problems playing together despite the device differences so far.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Also experiencing multiplayer issues on LAN. Been playing for months with no issues. But since the update the local games are not found. PC/PS4/PS5 all used to connect with no issues.

Yeah my gf and I have been having this problem. I just keep trying to join and it works after a lot of try’s. Needs to be fixed asap.

Could you please mention which devices you are trying to use to connect with? (Eg is this mostly affecting cross play such as Switch to Xbox?)

Are you trying to connect on the same local LAN network, or through online multiplayer?

My kids and I all use ipads with iPadOS 16.3.1. We have been getting the same error message when trying to join each other through lan or online xbox friends. This started happening after updating to Minecraft 1.19.62, and 1.19.63 hasn’t fixed it. We have always connected easily and nothing else has changed (internet connection etc). Apple released their iPadOS 16.3.1 on 13 Feb, which is the only other thing that did change. Hope this helps 🙂

@Mega_Spud - Only tested on LAN (all running 1.19.63) and found:

PS4 to PS5 - Joinable friends works as expected
PS5 to PS4 - Joinable friends works as expected
PC to PS4/PS5 - No joinable friends
PS4/PS5 to PC - No joinable friends

So for us it seems like it's only cross-play that's broken. We don't use the online multiplayer function so can't add info here. Hope this is helpful.

I’m experiencing the same issue with my world. No matter which world I’m in, or no matter whose world I’m trying to join, it shows this error. My friends and I use iPadOS / iOS 16.3.1, iOS trying to join iOS.

Also experincing this error. I'm using Windows 11 and my son uses Windows 10. We're on the same LAN. The world we play in is hosted on my computer.

This issue started after we received the 1.19.62 update. Sometimes if my son retries joining the game it works after the 5th or 7th retry. Other times it hangs trying to join the multiplayer game without showing the "P2P/SIG" error.

Thank you for the additional information and for your patience. We have rolled out a fix on our side to address issues related to connections to multiplayer sessions. There is no new version number nor a need to update your game, please just close and restart the game while being online to get the fix.

The problem is completely gone, thanks. The only drawback was that in the last world I was trying to play with my son, when we received the fix, made me lose my inventory, but no big issues.

Now the multiplayer join process is very fast. Thanks a lot!

I'm also having this issue. My son's playing on Xbox s. I try to join from my android. Was working fine and now it won't let me join. I do not see what or how the resolution was on here. Any help or advice? We've tried just about everything suggested online.

I get the same error when trying to connect to any world on my phone..my kid has no issues with hers..I have tried everything to fix it but I can't play online in any world..I can join severs that are already on the game..but no worlds

This is happening still. I’m playing Minecraft on an Xbox and my boyfriend is playing on Nintendo switch. He is getting the error code “restart client” when I invite him to my world. Have tried everything Microsoft suggested and restarting the game does not work. Please help.
