Somewhere between 1.20.22 Preview and 1.20.24 preview, something seems to have changed about how XP orbs appear, sometimes having enough velocity to fly out of attraction range from where they appeared. Even while fishing or trading with villagers, I now need to roam around and pick up XP orbs that got sent out of range. It doesn't happen every time, and seems to happen more often when multiple orbs are created.
I'm playing on Windows 10 Bedrock Preview 1.20.24, over wired LAN to a dedicated server hosted on Windows 11 for Bedrock Preview 1.20.24.

Experience orbs have always scattered more when they are colliding with more entities at once. The way that they repel off of each other and mobs is due to them having mob collision, which is reported as a bug at MCPE-87711.
The extreme scattering in crowded conditions was not usually visible due MCPE-11181, because the client-side visual orbs were not subject to mob collision. You would have to exit the world and come back in to see the orbs that had scattered far away in their actual positions.
Based on my experience testing from previous versions I do not see any difference in behavior in the current Preview. I only see the visual difference from MCPE-87711 being fixed. I have tested killing groups of mobs in a flat world and killing large stacks of mobs in a 1x1 with a one-block opening at their feet level.
If you still think this is a distinct new issue after reading my analysis, please reply back. It would help to have a video of what you are seeing.

I am experiencing this as well actually, I'm on mobile so it's a little difficult to get a proper shot of it happening. Basically what I'm personally seeing, the scenario being a one block space for mob collection/disbatch for my mob grinder, is before whatever update it was the orbs would just get p
[media][media]ushed around at the mobs' feet until they got collected by me standing in front of the space, or just drifted/got pushed out of the spot, still getting picked up by me standing in the same spot. Now, however it feels like the collision velocity got cranked up somewhat because in that same one block space scenario I stated above, the orbs now just get launched behind me to just out of collection range and I have to do a loop to pick up what is sitting behind me. I have no idea if this is a legit bug in the collision mechanics or if it's intentional, but I don't remember the orbs flying around the way the currently do.

@unknown you have attached 2 identical screenshots

Also occurs on the switch

i was recently killing a bunch or rabbits in a desert, and the xp from killing the rabbit (one rabbit at a time too!) would fly close to 25 blocks away at times. it was incredibly incredibly rare to have it go less than about 7 blocks away from where i killed the rabbit.

I see this while fishing in 1.20.12 PS4 Bedrock. (playing on PS5) I got it on video happening 3 times (two of those in a row) here:

The same thing happens as in Ken's video, but worse when fishing on a boat in the middle of the ocean. I have to take the boat and make a wide circle every few minutes to collect all the orbs.
Furthermore, not sure if this is the same issue, but occasionally I've had fishing loot also fly way overhead and land behind me. I have seen this when inventory is full, but now it occasionally happens when I have slots open.
Playing Minecraft 1.20.15 on an iPad with iPadOS 16.6

I don't have a video, but if you try fishing for a couple of minutes you'll see the problem. XP orbs just seem to bounce off my character and back the way they came, ending up out of range of the attraction.
