Sometimes when you shear a sheep (dyed or undyed) it regrows wool instantly, making it a "double sheep". I will try to attach two screenshots when I can reproduce it. It happened to me twice in two days of playing.

Sheep regrow wool as soon as they eat. Shear them while they're eating and they'll regrow it immediately.
