Summary:
The player can enable flight mode while flying the elytra. When you turn on the flight mode, the flight on the elytra must be stopped. It does not match previous versions and java edition.
Steps to reproduce:
Go to creative.
Fly on elytra.
Double-click on the spacebar, as if you were activating flight mode.
Observed results:
While flying on the elytra, you can activate the flight mode.
You will move slowly, but as if you are flying on an elytra.
Expected results:
When activating flight mode while flying the elytra, flight on the elytra will instantly stop and the player will enter flight mode.

This is a Bedrock-wide issue, it’s impossible to exit gliding mode in Creative now. To make it easier, however, you can double tap the sneak button to exit classic creative flying. It will keep the elytra going though and the only way to stop it is to take off the elytra.
This is quite an annoying bug due to my preferred travel method in my creative worlds being the elytra. It puts the player in some weird state of being in the elytra position while not being able to do anything till they land on a block but in slow motion.
