In the latest Java snapshot (23w33a), sponges and wet sponges were given their own unique sounds, as well as a unique sound when absorbing water. However, this has yet to be added to Bedrock edition, as they both still use grass block sounds.

Pick normal sponge or wet sponge
Place around the sponge/wet sponge
Observed: Sponge/Wet sponge don't have a sound, Still use grass block sounds
Walking sound method
Pick normal sponge or wet sponge
Place at 2 x 15 blocks of sponge/wet sponge
Walk into sponge/wet sponge to hear
Observed: Sponge/Wet sponge does not have stepping sounds
Expected Behaviour: Sponge & Wet sponge would be add their own unique sounds like java edition
