After I defeated the ender dragon I punched the dragon egg once to get it safely afterwards, but it entirely disappeared instead of teleporting. I even made a copy of my world to search for it in the spectator mode in both end and overworld spawn but couldn't find it. I didn't create an issue sooner because I was determined to find it and was searching for it every once in a while for months, but recently a friend of mine used a third party app on my world file to locate it and it seems to be entirely gone. Now it is also too late to give up on my world considering all the effort me and my friends put into it, so here i am. I am also asking if there's any way to recover it.

You may be able to get another dragon egg by re-summoning the ender dragon and killing it (see MCPE-51345).
If you create a Creative copy of the world and place another dragon egg, does that dragon egg also disappear when you punch it? If so, it would be helpful to attach a copy of your world to this ticket. If the world is too large to attach, you can upload it to a file-sharing site like OneDrive or Dropbox.
