I noticed that baby chickens that grow up will not die in an automatic chicken cooker until the game is restarted.
To reproduce:
Spawn a baby chicken in a 1x1 space, on a bottom half slab, with lava above
Wait 20 minutes until the chicken grows
Notice that the adult chicken is now within the lava above, but not dying
Restart the world and the chicken should then die instantly
This only happens if the young chickens grow in the lava, spawning in adult chickens causes them to die instantly.
See picture for reference.
This reportedly happens with other mobs that grow too.

Yeah, this exact same thing happens to me too. The chickens don't die, even though trere head is in the lava. After restarting, all chickens die, and then any new growing chicken stays alive again. Strange...
Confirmed on Windows 10 Edition and Realms. I have this same issue with the chicken cooker. When the chicken does die everything burns up in the lava now instead of dropping the feathers and cooked meat like it used to.
I have had this problem with my world too. When I found out this problem with my chicken cooker, in a testing world, I created a automatic baby chicken to chicken sorter. the baby chickens world be sorted and looped back to the entrance to the machine to be sorted again. the adults however, will get killed, and separated into another chamber. Hugely complicated machine, and lots of redstone/precise timings. (I use slabs to sort them btw). My sorter has a 99% accuracy rate(I tested it, a lot)
When I spawned some baby chickens via eggs, and when they grew up into adult chickens, I sorted them. Funny enough, the adult chickens that have just recently grew from baby chickens, got sorted into the baby chicken output of my machine. I was confused. Then I reloaded the chuncks(closed and opened again). I tried sorting again, and this time it worked and all the adult animals sorted into the correct place. I did this test twice -same result.
What I think happened (correct me if I am wrong) is that the collision/hit box of the baby animal does not update when it grows up unless you reload that entity(eg. reload chunks). If you want some screen shots or videos as evidence, please ask! I would love for this issue to be fixed.
Happens to me too, and also have an issue with the chickens "flying out" of the glass. Same with zombies in my XP farm.
