Impossible to transfer worlds from Application to External storage and vice versa

It won't give me the transfer application to external dialog when I change it to external storage.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create and exit a world if you already don't have one

  2. Change File Storage Type from Application to External or vice versa in Settings -> Storage

Observed result:
The worlds from the other storage type are gone with no way to transfer them.

Expected result:
It is possible to transfer worlds from the other storage type either via the Storage section in Settings or via an automatic pop-up.

Can confirm, although i don't have any worlds on the external storage

This really needs to be fixed. I can’t believe this only has 2 votes. This is an incredibly important feature that is lacking, and there’s no way to bypass this issue even with ADB and plugins which can no longer work as the API for changing the Minecraft GUI was forgotten about when the redesign was shipped.

Why so less votes? This is a major issue.

I miss when I could simply transfer my worlds across devices whenever I'd upgrade. This isn’t possible anymore, and one of the biggest reasons why I stopped playing Minecraft on my phone. It’s just a dead end knowing that whatever effort I put into my worlds, they’re doomed to die or be obsolete with my device.

Usman Haider, before creating new worlds, make sure your storage is set to “External”. This way, you'll be able to access those world files in Android/com.mojang.minecraftpe/files/games/com.mojang/minecraftWorlds.

This won't help existing worlds, but will help for the new/future worlds
