There is an armour in Minecraft that is weak and rare called the Chainmail armour it is rare as it can't be crafted . There is a Minecraft mod by robohbob that allows chainmail armour to be craftable so Mojang should add this mod the link of the mod is here https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/craftable-chainmail-mod-ccm

That's not a bug, Chainmail Armor does not have crafting, Because of same as Java Edition and a feature request is not accepted.
