Redstone dust automatically goes into pistons when next to them, but it doesn't do this with crafters, dispensers, and droppers.

I do not think this is a duplicate of 16892. This report talks about how dispensers, crafters, and droppers do not redirect redstone dust, while pistons and sticky pistons do. 16892 is talking about how redirected redstone does not fully redirect the redstone pulse and can power a block it shouldn't.
Changing resolution to Invalid because this is essentially a feature request. Droppers and dispensers have never redirected redstone dust in any edition of Minecraft. Pistons alone were given this function specifically in Bedrock Edition: see MCPE-17289.
