Horse max health changed after being hurt before taming

I'm playing on a realm with some friends, although I think the problem might be present in bedrock and not only on realms.

It happens that I am breeding horses to get a perfect specimen, and I found that a horse had grown up. I started taming it, and it looked very promising.

It had 13 heart points, but when it threw me off, I accidentally hit it with my pickaxe (dealing 10 damage points). When I got on it, to continue taming it, I saw that the max health had gone down to 8 hearts and it stayed that way after being tamed.

On a side note. I just got another horse with a bugged out max health. Its max health are 7,5 hearts, but the health bar displays a maximum of 9 hearts (with 1,5 empty ones). I tried healing it with wheat and apples but none worked, as if it already had a full health bar.

The screenshot you've attached refers to MCPE-165899 meanwhile the bug you're reporting here may be referring to MCPE-180389

Whilst the reporter of MCPE-180389 affirmed that damaging the horse didn't appear to influence what they were experiencing, it could still be possible that the conditions for the horses' heart count to change is solely dependent on the specific circumstances of when they're mounted or whether a certain desync occurs. Does closing and restarting the game reset the amount of hearts displayed?

Any additional information, including a video showing what you experienced would be greatly appreciated, as there appear to be several bugs with horses' hearts resetting.

The hearts do not reset after restarting the game. I tested the value, by trying to heal it, and it remained constant and lower than I had seen before accidentally hitting the horse.
I constantly see visual health bugs, but this was not one.

It seems as though the horse took its previous health and not the health stat to determine its new maximum health after being tamed

After some further breeding, the health indication bug is becoming a real problem. Before, I could just reset it by restarting the game.
But now, it won't go away, no matter what I do.
Some older horses still retain their health indication, but many newer ones only show up to 9 hearts.

This has been happening with my horses as well, even ones that have already been tamed and ones that haven’t taken damage. Currently, I have a group of 14 & 15 heart horses that I’m working on breeding and the heart counts have all dropped to anywhere from 13 down to 7 hearts.

(FYI: this is on Bedrock Realms on PC and is still happening as of the latest update)

im having the same issue in my realm. the max health of the horse is hidden, seems to correct itself when you go through a portal but once it takes any damage it reverts to the hidden health. when the health is hidden it seems to take damage normally to its real max health but you don't see it until it reaches the health that is shown. making for breeding very hard
