Game won't load on two samsung tablets - "global resource" error

Downloaded the most recent update of Minecraft PE for 3 devices: my phone (a Motorola X Pure), and two Samsung Tablets (Galaxy Tab 4, and Galaxy Tab 4a). I also have purchased Mojang's City texture pack and it was enabled on all three devices.

Prior to updating from version 1.0 of Minecraft, it worked fine on all 3 devices. However, with the newest update, the game crashes consistently on both tablets. I'm able to open it to the intro screen, but during the process of "building a world," the game crashes.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it on all devices and that doesn't fix the issue. Occasionally I see and Error message when I open Minecraft on the tablets: "Global Resource Error: Global Resource pack has caused the game to crash and have been reset to default," which makes me think the texture pack is the issue. But even after disabling the texture packs, I have the same error.

Does the world you are trying to load have a resource pack applied at a world level? If so try removing that and see if that lets you play at least.

No, there are no resource packs applied at the world level, or at the game level. Still crashes when I try either loading an existing world, or creating a new world.

Thanks for the quick response, as it does not necessarily seem like the texture pack is the issue (but it could still be), this ticket will be closed as invalid. It is nothing wrong with your report but crashes like this are automatically logged and sent to Mojang now and we have been instructed to close these tickets as invaild.

I appreciate the assistance. That said, I have three very unhappy children who have been unable to use the game since December. The tickets may be closed as invalid due to automatic reports, but the question remains - how long will it take before there is a fix? And if tickets cannot be opened regarding this issue, then what do we do if the issue remains for weeks on end (it has been 3 weeks since the first crash report would have automatically reported)?

You could try these trouble shooting tips to see of it fixes the problem.
Un install and re install mcpe (your worlds will NOT be deleted unless you are on iOS (iPhone/iPad))
If that doesn't work using the file explorer go to games/com.mojang and copy the minecraftWorlds folder some where outside of the com.mojang folder and delete the com.mojang folder. Then open MCPE and try creating a new world and see if that works. If it does then just simply delete the minecraftworlds file that is IN the com.mojang folder and replace it with the one that was copied out of the folder to get your old worlds back.

Thank you for the suggestions. I tried both, and the game still crashes. Any other trouble shooting ideas?

One more thing that could work is running the game while the device is in air plane mode. If that fixes it it probably is XBOX Live ' s fault or Google Play's.
