When I press play it freezes minecraft and I cant play pls explain why

Have you tried restarting and is there much room on your device? i see strange things like this when iPad needs restarting/not enough room to save the game (worth a try!)

How many world's do you have?

My old phone (iPhone 4s) crashed frequently on 1.0. My new phone no longer crashes very often but it has massive lag spikes. I will just be playing and then it will freeze for 20-30 seconds then resume. I cannot attribute this to any one particular cause

Ok, thanks. I was checking if it was possibly too many worlds causing lag but that does not seam to be the case here.
