A happy ghast's behavior typically fly around aimlessly as shown earlier in the video. When the player holds a snowball, the happy ghast is attracted to the player, but then always examines the last position of the "attracted snowball", even when the player is no longer holding it.

When you say the happy ghast “examines” the last position of the snowball or harness, do you mean that it faces that position, or that it stays near that position?

I want to add that this also happens when they stop following a player holding a harness (unharnessed happy ghasts will follow a player just like with snowballs). It seems like what happens is they start using the targeting ai of a regular ghast for some reason.
