Sun and moon are visible even during rain and thunderstorms

In current vanilla Minecraft, when it rains, the sky darkens and clouds blot out the sun and moon. In the Minecraft preview when turning on vibrant visuals the sun and moon are still visible and the sun casts shadows.

I’m sure the developers must be aware of this bug and I don’t see a post about it so I’ll post it. If I missed any post about this excuse me.
