After the latest update (1.21.93) this is still an issue. It’s fixed in preview mode. What’s the hold up? This is a really basic bug that’s easy to fix and while minor in the grand scheme of things I feel this is one of the more important aspects of Minecraft.
This issue is still present in current version of Minecraft namely the Chase the skies update.
Pardon my bump I must correct myself. I didn’t mean to”burnet visuals” I meant “vibrant visuals”.
I’ve been playtesting a bit and I’ve found that there is indeed an overcast though it doesn’t cover the moon or the sun. Try activating any type of overcast at night and you’ll see the stars disappear. This is interesting and as I’ve been playing more with burnet visuals the effect the overcast has me with mixed feelings. It is strikingly beautiful to see the sun shine through the snow or rain and the effect of the stars reappearing after a storm is a nice effect. I can’t help wonder that mojang is cooking something special with the weather right now.
This issue is present in release version. This is a really disappointing one for me I was really excited for this release and the overcast is the only thing that keeping me from using vibrant visuals as default.
Still experiencing this bug in the current release with vibrant visuals enabled.
No add-ons are required to experience this bug.
Still affects bedrock version 1.21.51
I’m currently transcribing the Bible, of all things to censor, and I’m getting blank words for “wine” and “virgin’s” which I understand can be used unfamily friendly but I think there is a serious case for adding a toggle for censorship. If we’re so worried about kids seeing inappropriate material I think it would be better to add a parent lock to the toggle rather than no toggle at all. This is a dystopian level of censorship as it is.
It’s been a few years now and I think this is an easier fix as LightKnight has demonstrated. Having observed these years without any fix for this issue I would like to bump it as this issue is really annoying. Is there some particular constraint keeping the devs from fixing this issue?
Made the file public.
It seems all iterations of “manhood” written on any format are censored. This includes “womanhood”. Attached is a video of me trying to type “manhood” on a sign.

I have the same issue. I’m playing on ps5 and I can’t join my friend’s realm on pc. Mobile seems to work however. It looks like the update hasn’t reached every device properly.
Affects version 1.19.31
well said Ziad, this also does go against the lore of the deep dark cities. I thought part of their lore was that nothing survives the warden. When players get to the ancient cities on bedrock this continuity is completely ruined and feels rather lazy. Feels more like a market place add-on than the actual ancient city.
If this were an intended feature of bedrock I would appreciate it. Because I know it’s not intended this bug makes the ancient cities feel more like a preview of the wild update than a discrepancy between Java and bedrock. The challenge is nice. There are plenty of opportunities to farm Xp from the copious skulk that generates from the mobs that spawn in the ancient cities. I agree with Ori1666. A heads up or a toggle should be added if this feature remains. Some players may find the skulk reward fulfilling. Others may find it too challenging.
Not worth exploring the deep dark till this bug gets fixed. Glad I have Java as well as bedrock.
This is a powerfully annoying bug Mojang please address this one.
