When using the default world, the music is very quiet, and almost completely inaudible compared to the sound effects. I have to turn the switch volume all the way up and the in-game sound effect volume way down just to hear it. The Java version didn't have this problem last I checked.
This is only for the default world pack. For example, on the Super Mario world pack, the music volume is just fine.
How to reproduce:
Create a world with the default world and texture packs.
Wait for a song to play
Turn the in-game sound effect volume down and the switch system volume up to hear the song if it's inaudible

Same here.

The Windows 10 version also has this problem.

Phantoms are especially a problem. Although many other sounds are very quiet, the phantom swooping sound is so quiet that it's almost fully silent (I had to manually increase the swooping sound with a custom resource pack to near maximum possible levels in order to hear it normally).

I can agree, the Minecraft soundtrack sounds like junk on Bedrock compared to Java. It has hardly any Bass to it and is way too quiet.

Same problem here! but running on a PS4. Version: v1.14.60

Can confirm.

This seems to affect C418s music and not Lena's music or any newer music also this may also affect regular minecraft sounds over all minecraft bedrock sounds are quieter then normal I have included comparisons between the game files and ingame the files are louder out side of the game unlike Lena's newer music.

I have the same problem on Xbox Series X.
I always tought the music in Bedrock Edition was too low compared to Legacy Console Editon, but now is more evident with the new musics (the ocean ones, the nether ones and the cave&cliffs ones) since they are more loud than the old music

Wish music was louder. I'm having same issue on xbox series s. Its too quiet.

If you look at the game's sound_definitions file, you can actually see that some musics (mostly C418 ones) have their volume values at 0,3, 0,2 or even 0,1, in the case of the hal3 music. Then, looking at the Caves & Cliffs's volume values, all of them are at 0,4, which is probably the reason they are louder.
C418 musics: // "volume": 0.1, 0,2 or 0,3
Caves & Cliffs musics: // "volume": 0.4 or "volume": 0.40,

Affects the 1.19.2 Hotfix.

Still an issue in 1.19.51. It is worth noting that C418's music is way too quiet, especially the creative mode music is nearly inaudible. However, the soundtrack that Lena Raine composed is at the usual volume level.

The volume of C418's music is set to 10-20% in sound_definitions.json. This can be edited with a resource pack and I've done this for Windows 10, but I don't think there's any way at all to import resource packs in Switch.

Still affecting in 1.19.51
The music of c418 has a very low volume compared to the general audio and the music of other authors.

I thought it was my imagination but it's true, currently some songs of c418 are heard bass, only some but in general they do not have the same volume range of one and the other.
Also in the main menu their iconic songs are very muted compared to the new songs that have come out, hopefully give us an option to compress the sound and that this more stable to avoid lowering and raising the volume to listen to our favorite music of the game

We have already reached 1.20 and the same problem continues

still an issue in 1.20.30

Sound and music are still poorly level in volume at 1.20.30

I play on a Chromebook and my speakers aren't very good so I would like it if you fixed this, also, the cave ambiance seems very loud compared to the default music. please fix

With new music coming to 1.21, I really hope this to see this bug fixed.
