I planted some wheat near my house, climbed onto the roof, then accidentally fell down. I landed on some mature wheat I was using as a decoration. The wheat disappeared and left two wheat seed resources.

But nothing falls under the block,nthe wheat just drops seeds and the seeds stay on top of the ground.
If you jump or fall on the crops, this will be destroyed and converted to dirt again and you will receive 0-2 melon/wheat seeds and/or 0-2 wheat. What you are saying is that if you fall into the crop, automatically the mature wheat/melon seeds are harvested, i dont know if in the PC is different, but in MCPE is working as intended since 0.5.0 (In 0.4.0 there was a bug that you couldnt farm wheat seeds very well because the crop was converted to dirt with no reason, but this was fixed for 0.5.0)
