Clicking esc while using keyboard and mouse breaks the mouse

When using keyboard and mouse on ipad if you click the esc/menu key it switches you mouse pointer to the assistive touch (apples pointer) and you have to restart the game to keep using your mouse. Even when you exit out of your inventory or a chest.
