@キ No you don't just go a few versions back and you can connect just fine through the servers tab.
@キ Im talking about using the servers tab because if the computer the server is running on only allows port 19132 through its firewall the server will not show up as a lan world.
@ᴡꜰᴀɴᴛᴀ That is not normal. You have always been able to connect to lan servers with online mode set to false without a microsoft account.
filthy clanker
Ok sorry made a mistake I didn't realize the effect doesn't happen when wearing leather boots
You need the Xbox app to download a identifier then you can login that version would not work soon

it is rare
I had this problem as well and I may have found a solution on Windows. Go to the folder %appdata%\.minecraft then delete versions folder.
Reinstall your Minecraft client.
oh ok I just wanted to make sure it was known
im now using lunar client not the official minecraft launcher and on lunar the issue is resolved. Probably cause they use different architecture so its probably a problem with Java maybe
Note: This appears to happen with all grain-y randomly assigned color blocks although leaves are the most noticeable
(and it only happens when you move)
I don't know much about the bug tracker, so forgive me if you already know this and are trying to fix it.
I just reloaded into the game and the skin is fixed. I don't know why it took over 24 hours, but it is fixed.

I forgot to mention that I was on a private single player world with no mods active. I turned off my resource pack and it made no difference. I created a new world in case the world was the problem, but once again no difference.
I did repeat the process without using Optifine or any other client, making no difference though. I even re downloaded Minecraft in case any modified files from mods and clients were causing the issue. I tried on 1.16.1 and still a problem. 1.16.1 and 1.16.2 are the only versions causing problems though. I understand you are busy so please take your time since this isn't a major issue. Thanks 😃
@OcelotOnesie It's not a bug I just thought is was.
