Split screen joining as (2) instead of the account I’m logging in as

I keep trying to join my boyfriend and i’s minecraft world which is on his account. I always play on my account but split screen. Every time I join it joins as “his account”(2) instead of my account even though I’ve logged in. I have tried restarting the game, console and controllers. I’ve tried removing my account from his Xbox and readding it. I’m super upset because I have all of my good gear on my account. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this that would be great
