Summary:
In the latest Bedrock update (1.21.90), silverfish no longer take damage from passive trident killers that use trapdoors opening and closing to move them through a static trident. This issue breaks many XP farms. Other mobs like zombies or slimes still work as expected. This seems related to a possible hitbox or collision change involving silverfish, trapdoors, or fences. This is likely a bug, as it is undocumented.
Steps to Reproduce:
Build a standard passive trident killer using a trapdoor and a fence post, with a trident stuck in place.
Push silverfish (spawned from infested blocks or spawn eggs) into the trapdoor area using water streams.
Observe that the silverfish are not damaged by the trident.
Repeat the test with other mobs (e.g. zombies or slimes) to confirm the structure still works.
Expected Result:
Silverfish should be damaged and killed when coming into contact with the trident, just like other mobs.
Actual Result:
Silverfish remain unaffected by the trident, receiving no damage and breaking XP farming systems that rely on this mechanic.
Final Considerations:
The impact of this bug is significant. Not only are XP farms broken, but any farm that relies on this passive trident killer mechanic no longer functions properly with silverfish. This affects the gameplay experience for many Bedrock players.
I kindly ask you to consider this issue and provide some clarification or documentation regarding whether this change is intentional or a bug.
