In Java edition 25w19a the fog was split between environmental and render distance based, the environmental fog is not in the bedrock edition.
Steps to Reproduce:
Launch Minecraft Java Edition (version 25w19a or later).
Create a new world and observe the distant environment.
Launch Minecraft Bedrock Edition (latest version).
Create a new world and observe the distant environment in a similar biome.
Expected result:
Environmental fog (separate from render distance fog) should be visible in Bedrock Edition, providing the same atmospheric effects as seen in Java Edition.
Actual Result:
Environmental fog is missing in Bedrock Edition

@GoldenHelmet I agree to what you’re saying but shouldn’t it be added to fancy graphics settings for bedrock too? Or will java edition get rid of the environmental fog once they introduce Vibrant Visuals there?
Can confirm in 1.21.93.
The environmental fog from Java Edition is nothing like Vibrant Visuals' volumetric fog. The Pale Garden fog, for example, is handled differently, being extremely thick on Bedrock while basically unnoticeable on Java.
Vibrant Visuals is not a good reason for Fancy Graphics parity breaks in general. Do the new cloud changes from Java Edition intend to match Vibrant Visuals? Not really; in fact, Bedrock clouds are still as limited as old Java clouds in Fancy. I don’t see why the fog would be different.
Bedrock Edition has volumetric fog within the vibrant visuals graphics mode. I believe the Java fog changes are intended to be at parity with Bedrock’s volumetric fog.
