I had a world that had at least 30 hours of playtime, when I updated from 1.21.120.20-1.21.120.21, my world became terribly unstable. There would be chunks in my world that became dead-zones, frequent crashes in the same loaded chuck over and over again. I ran away from the chuck thinking other parts of the world would be fine, but no. It happened again-and-again, crash-after-crash, until I realized it was finished; I had to delete the world and start fresh. I built myself back up and after 10 hours while walking in a village; another crash occurred. Then another and another in the same area; I enjoy playing around with the new features in preview, but I have made real progress in these worlds, Mojang, please fix this; I don’t want to lose this world as well. (I am aware of back-ups and moving to stable instead).

If you have a world copy available, you might like to upload a copy of it for investigation.
On Windows 10 you can use the Export world feature.
If the world is larger than 10MB you can upload the world to OneDrive or a similar file sharing site, and then share the link here.
Additionally, if the issue is ongoing, it would be helpful if you could also provide some additional information through Mojang Support.
Please choose Technical Support as the category, and Game Crashes as the subject. In the form, please include:

My specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9900X
RAM: 48Gb G.Skill
GPU: GIGABYTE NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16Gb
SSD: Samsung EVO 990
As for the latest version release; I believe the issue was indeed fixed, however, there are a few caveats. While in version 1.21.120.21 I experienced graphical glitches where the loading screen would flicker. When I tried updating to 1.21.120.22 with the Microsoft Store, it updated, the game would start up and would show a loading screen; but, the game would never start, followed by an immediate crash. I had to uninstall the game and reinstall. I loaded my world, the flickering loading screen disappeared, and the world no longer crashes. However, 1.21.120.22 still sees large amounts of lag spikes. I will still keep an eye on the past frequent crashes, it could still have that issue. Thank you for acknowledging, I appreciate you reaching out. I will submit a copy of my world soon. Although, that might not be relevant if the issue was fixed.
Thanks for the additional information. If you could let us know more about the lag spikes that would be helpful. (Does that mean FPS drops, or stuttering? How would you describe it?)
Also, could you let us know what graphics mode you’re using? Vibrant Visuals, simple, or fancy graphics? What is your render distance set to?
Thank you for your help!
Improved Input Response can only be enabled or disabled in Simple or Fancy graphics modes, but the game keeps your changes when you switch to Vibrant Visuals, so it is possible to have it enabled while using Vibrant Visuals. Switch to Simple or Fancy graphics mode and check again.
You can also check if there is a number in parentheses next to your FPS at the top of the screen. If there is, that means Improved Input Response is enabled.
To help us further diagnose the lag spikes, would you be able to provide any more detailed information about the circumstances under which the lag is occurring, or any log files you may have?
Additionally, perhaps you could provide some screenshots of the debug header specifically at the points where the lag spikes are occurring?
Thank you for your report!
However, this issue has been temporarily resolved as Awaiting Response
Is this still an issue in the latest version?
This ticket will automatically reopen when you reply.

Would you be able to provide any more information about the crashes you are experiencing? Are there any error messages shown?
Also, to help us understand and reproduce the issue, could you please include details about your device and system (RAM, CPU, GPU spec)?
If you’d like you can also run dxdiag and copy the relevant information from there. (Win+R → dxdiag) - be sure to remove any personal information, just the PC specs would be useful.
