After the copper golem update, whenever I press the A button on my controller, it makes the onscreen virtual keyboard come up instead of letting me just use the keyboard on my computer to input text.
Things I’ve tried:
Turning off every setting in Windows that could generate the onscreen keyboard.
When the keyboard opens by pressing A, investigating every setting it offers to turn it off.
Testing my physical (laptop) keyboard with Word, Notepad, and Notepad++ to ensure the keyboard works normally (it does) and doesn’t off the onscreen keyboard (it did not).
Unplugging everything plugged in anywhere on my computer.
Plugging every Xbox controller I have in the house (three) into every slot it can fit into on my computer.
Trying multiple controllers both using them in a wired and wireless format.
Using services.msc to turn off anything related to touch.
Scanning the task manager for anything unusual (no issues) or that could be a task that I could end (none).
Reinstalling Minecraft Bedrock fully.
Running it after install in its vanilla installation.
Installing it on another computer and running it in a vanilla install (the problem occurs there, too).
Using group policy to deny access or operability to the onscreen keyboard.
Registry corrections.
Repairing my Windows install.
Every suggestion from the Internet and several AIs to fix it.
The only thing I haven’t done is reinstall Windows completely. However, seeing as how it happens on another computer with the same steps completed and still having the issue, I decided to report it here. Thank you.
One other thing: pressing the A button is the only action that causes this to happen. Using the mouse to click on the text field doesn’t cause the onscreen keyboard to appear.
