Creative inventory doesn't close until you press escape three times

The bug

After searching for an item, you have to press escape three times to close the inventory now.

How to reproduce

  1. In creative mode, open your inventory and search for an item

  2. Press ESCAPE

Expected results

The inventory should close

Observed results

Hm, I only seem to have this issue in crosshair mode in editor mode.
