When you have an item in your hand that isn’t usable on a nautilus and hover over an unarmored nautilus, it gives you an “Open” button. When the button is pressed, it opens the player inventory since the nautilus doesn’t have an inventory UI (the function on other control methods is the same except without the button). This button should not be present.
