Description:
Bottle-type throwables (splash potions, lingering potions, experience bottles) can successfully hit and activate target blocks, confirming their projectile classification. However, when these items make contact with hostile projectiles like ghast fireballs and wither skulls, while the impact is registered, no deflection occurs. The bottles simply pass through or collide visually without imparting the expected kinetic force to redirect the hostile projectiles.
How to Reproduce:
Throw a bottle-type item (splash potion, experience bottle) at a ghast fireball or wither skull
Observe that the bottle makes visual contact with the hostile projectile
Notice that while impact is detected, the fireball/skull continues on its original trajectory unchanged
Compare with snowballs/eggs which successfully deflect the same projectiles
Observed Result:
Visual collision occurs between bottle-type throwables and hostile projectiles
No deflection or trajectory change occurs for ghast fireballs or wither skulls
Hostile projectiles continue moving as if no collision happened
Other throwables (snowballs, eggs) properly deflect the same projectiles
Expected Result:
Bottle-type throwables should impart kinetic force to deflect ghast fireballs and wither skulls upon direct hit
The deflection behavior should be consistent with other player-thrown projectiles
Successful visual collision should result in corresponding physical interaction
Additional Notes:
This represents a clear inconsistency in the projectile physics system. Since bottle-type items are detected as projectiles for target block mechanics, they should exhibit complete projectile behavior, including the ability to deflect other projectiles through kinetic transfer.
