Xbox controller no longer works after 1.21.120 update

When I launch the game on the new update my controller doesn’t work. I tested my controller and pc and it isn’t a problem with either. My keyboard and mouse work fine. I’ve tried everything I can think of but don’t know why this is happening.

What controller are you using?

It’s a wired xbox one controller. It worked fine before the update.

Similar issue: Moving selection with controller in top level menu works, nothing else.

Could you try the following and see if it fixes the issue?

  1. Open File Explorer

  2. Navigate to C:\XboxGames\Minecraft for Windows\Content\Installers

  3. Run GameInputRedist.msi

Running the Xbox component repair tool fixed it. Controller works again!
