In Bedrock Edition 1.21.131 there is a severe rendering bug affecting entities.
When the camera intersects or gets extremely close to any entity (mobs or players),
the entity texture breaks into square polygon artifacts.
At the same moment:
- GPU usage jumps to 100%
- FPS drops heavily (even capped at 60 FPS)
- Device temperature rises abnormally (46–48°C on mobile)
- Happens with all graphics settings on minimum
- Happens with no texture packs, shaders or addons
- Happens in any world (new or old)
- Did not happen in previous versions
Attached video shows the issue clearly, including FPS drop and GPU usage spike.
This appears to be a render/culling loop issue related to entity hitboxes.

Yes this is the same reason why I came here intense lag and also rendering this grains make random fps drop in game before I had smooth 80 fps but after this update I have 80 but like every 20-40 sec random fps drops for like 20-50 sec it makes game unplayable pls fix this fast it's true bug

I’m also experiencing the same behavior on Android:
stable FPS before the update, now severe drops, GPU spikes and overheating.
This also persists in the latest beta with the new year-based versioning

This is due to an update wich added “Dithering” on mobs and certain blocks when you get too close to them, i also get this lag when the feature is activated, to prevent the lag: just go to settings → accessibility → dithering on mobs/blocks → disable.

Confirmed: disabling "Dithering on mobs/blocks" in Accessibility completely resolves the issue.
This appears to be a severe performance regression when the feature is enabled, especially on Adreno GPUs.

After consideration, the issue is being closed as Won't Fix.
Please note that this is not the same as Working as Intended, as this bug report correctly describes behavior in the game that might not be the intended or desirable behavior, but it will not be fixed right now. Sometimes, this is because the issue reported is minor and/or impossible to change without large architectural changes to the code base.
