On Bedrock Edition (PS4) version 26.1 a named and leveled villager disappeared within ~2 in‑game days. In its former position an unnamed, unleveled villager now stands and uses the same workstation. The missing villager is not found nearby. This happened in a fully enclosed village with multiple entrances; I had previously named and traded with the affected villager.
Steps to reproduce (what I did):
Named and leveled a villager via trading and a name tag.
Left the villager in the village near its workstation.
After ~2 in‑game days the named villager was gone; another villager now occupies the workstation.
Expected result:
Named/leveled villager vanished.
An untagged, unleveled villager occupies the same jobsite and appears to have taken over the trades.
No obvious death event/loot or zombie conversion occurred.
No other players on the world; single‑player on PS4 Bedrock.
Observed result:
Named villager should remain at its workstation and retain trades/level.
Jobsite linking should not result in another villager silently replacing a named/important villager.
Additional details:
Platform: PS4 Bedrock Edition (Bedrock 26.1)
World type: single‑player
The village is big, but enclosed; important villagers are within chunk(s) that can unload at edges.
I have no recent world backup prior to the incident.
The most likely explanation is that the villager escaped through an unnoticed flaw in your enclosure and got kill, then the village bred a new villager to take its place. Based on the steps provided, it is unlikely we will be able to reproduce a bug.
