Importing an invalid skin file no longer displays an error message

Summary:

When importing an invalid skin file, the game should display an error message indicating that only .png files with dimensions 64×64, 64×32, or 128×128 are supported. As of 26.30.29 Preview, this error message no longer appears. Instead, the file dialog closes and no feedback is provided, which can confuse users.

This issue is likely caused by this fix, mentioned in the changelog:

Fixed error message displayed when importing a custom skin on android without enough device space (MCPE-231262)

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Launch Minecraft Preview.

  2. Navigate to Dressing Room > Classic Skins.

  3. Select the gray silhouette and click Choose New Skin.

  4. Attempt to import a file that does not meet the required format or dimensions.

Observed Results:

The file dialog closes, and no message or feedback is shown in-game.

Expected Results:

The file dialog should close, and the game should display an error message explaining the valid file format and dimensions, matching the behavior in 26.21 Stable.
