When at least one of the 5 skins in character creator fails to load, the game runs at ~72 fps since 26.30, regardless of the displays refresh rate and if vsync is enabled.
How to reproduce:
On another device, import a skin pack from outside the marketplace
Set one of your skins as a skin from that park
Open minecraft on your main device
Go to character creator and see that the skin from the pack fails to load (expected, the skin pack is not imported)
You may have to wait a few minutes or restart a few times before the bug starts happening
Observed results:
The game runs at ~72 fps or lower when any skin fails to load. Additionally, the game drops to ~5 fps when on the loading screen when joining servers or loading worlds.
Expected results:
A skin failing to load should not affect the games fps
This is likely the root cause of most of the reports about lag since the update. If you are affected, you can fix this by deleting and re-creating all 5 skins (might have to do it several times to make sure they save), and then restarting minecraft.

This affects any skin that fails to load, usually from importing a non-marketplace skin pack on another device, and happens on my pc with a 6700 xt and 5900x, and my iPhone 16.
Several of my friends are reporting FPS problems, but I don't understand what the skin has to do with it. The same thing happened on my console, a PS5 Slim; the console is powerful, and the game is running at 30 FPS, lol
