Minecraft Bedrock 26.33 full-game freezes (2–3 seconds) on iPad 9th Generation (256 GB)

Minecraft runs at a stable frame rate (approximately 60 FPS), but the game randomly freezes for about 2–3 seconds before resuming normally.

The issue appears independent of graphics settings, world complexity, multiplayer, storage availability, or resource packs.

Frequency

• Occurs repeatedly during gameplay.

• Freezes happen at random intervals rather than during a specific action.

• The issue is reproducible across multiple play sessions.

Expected Result

Gameplay should remain smooth without complete freezes.

Actual Result

The entire game freezes for approximately 2–3 seconds.

Observed behavior during a freeze:

• World simulation stops.

• Player input becomes unresponsive.

• Camera movement stops.

• Menus cannot be interacted with.

• Sometimes audio also freezes.

• Other times audio continues while the game remains frozen.

• After approximately 2–3 seconds, gameplay resumes normally without crashing.

Tested Scenarios

The issue occurs in all of the following situations:

• Newly created survival worlds.

• Existing worlds.

• Multiplayer servers.

• Bedwars and SkyWars servers.

• Simple worlds with very few loaded blocks.

• Low render distance.

• Lowest graphics settings.

• Default graphics.

• Without resource packs.

• With optimization resource packs that disable particles and reduce visual effects.

The freezes still occur regardless of the configuration.

Troubleshooting Already Performed

The following actions did not resolve the issue:

• Reinstalled Minecraft.

• Reduced graphics to the lowest possible settings.

• Disabled visual effects.

• Tested with optimization resource packs.

• Tested without any resource packs.

• Tested on multiple worlds and multiplayer servers.

• Restarted the device.

Device Health

The device does not appear to have a hardware performance issue.

Observations:

• Approximately 50 GB of free storage is available.

• Roblox runs smoothly, including at high graphics settings.

• Other applications perform normally.

• The issue is isolated to Minecraft Bedrock.

Previous Behavior

This same iPad previously ran Minecraft without these freezes.

In previous versions I was able to use:

• Vibrant Visuals.

• High-resolution (256×256) resource packs.

The game remained smooth under those conditions.

After installing the current version (26.33), the freezes began occurring even when using significantly lower graphics settings.

Possible Reproduction Steps

1. Install Minecraft Bedrock 26.33.

2. Launch the game on an iPad 9th Generation.

3. Create a new world or join a multiplayer server.

4. Play normally for several minutes.

5. Random full-game freezes lasting approximately 2–3 seconds occur.

Additional Notes

The problem does not appear to be related to:

• World generation.

• Heavy Redstone activity.

• Large numbers of entities.

• Resource pack complexity.

• Storage capacity.

• General device performance.

Based on testing, the freezes appear to originate from the Minecraft client itself rather than from a specific world or gameplay scenario.
