When players wear armors (i.e. leggings) as affected skin or with affected Character Creator item (can be checked in “Affected skins / Character Creator items“), i.e. Peach from Mario Mash-up (Super Mario Mash-up Pack), the long skirt hides in Survival inventory and on the paper doll, but it does not hide for the armor to show in the world / game.
Steps to reproduce:
with Minecraft open, go to the Dressing Room
Click the green hanger icon (Classic Skins button) for skins, or Character T-posing icon (Character Creator button) for custom character (Character Creator)
Equip the affected skin or affected Character Creator item for your custom character shown in “Affected skins / Character Creator items“
Enter a creative world
Get a set of armor (i.e. by sending
/give @s iron_helmet,/give @s iron_chestplate//give @s elytra,/give @s iron_leggingsand/give @s iron_boots)Equip the armor
Open the inventory
If the tab is not in Survival inventory, switch to it
Observe if the backpack, cloak, long skirt, skis and / or leg cast hide in the Survival inventory tab
Leave the inventory screen
Switch to second / third person view
Observe if the backpack, cloak, long skirt, skis and / or leg cast hide in the world
Expected result: They should be hidden in steps 9 and 12, like in former versions
Observed result: In step 9, backpack, cloak, long skirt, skis and / or leg cast hide in UIs (including the Survival inventory tab) (and paper doll), but in step 12, it / they can no longer be hidden in the world (gameplay) (see “part of skin no longer hides for armor.mov” for video, or “Skier Steve with leather shoes in a world.png“ and “Skier Steve with leather shoes in Inventory.png” for photos), For Bowser, Bowser jr., Daisy, Peach and Rosalina, only horns / crown (and some hair) hides properly.

Character Creator items (and it’s category) (armor to observe):
Leg casts (left / right leg cast) (Footwear, Style) (boots)
Cherry Blossom wing (Back item, Style) (chestplate)
Wind Turbine (Back item, Style) (chestplate)
Note: As far as I tested, this affects other skins / Character Creator items that use layers below helmet (the skin’s head), meaning skins / Character Creator items that use bodyArmor, belt, leftLegging / rightLegging, leftSock / rightSock, or leftBoot / rightBoot layers won’t be properly hidden in game play. For chestplate, an elytra can also be used to spot issues easier.

Sorry for horrendous typos in “Skier Steve with leather shoes in a world.png“ and “Skier Steve with leather shoes in Inventory.png“, that was supposed to be Netherite boots, not “leather shoes”.
I tested my own add-on (which has workaround for issues I have with the Mario Mash-up) and it works around this issue, so I made this resource pack just to work it around, please note that it might be incompatible for other resource packs, but yes, it works for the Mario Mash-up!
For “it works for the Mario Mash-up!“ I mean the community port of the skin pack, not the add-on, which means it should work on official versions.
